About Us

Good Tidings Charity (GTC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that strives to build futures in Vietnamese orphans and impoverished children. While promoting education advancement and preserving the Vietnamese tradition and culture in the Houston community, GTC puts great emphasis on building futures for these orphans and impoverished children through several key objectives:

Working to improve the quality of life for the orphans and impoverished children in Vietnam through poverty reduction and medical aid.

Developing community outreach programs in Vietnam and the US that support child development and provides advocacy for children in need.

Developing educational programs in which underprivileged Vietnamese children, here in America, can have the opportunity to excel and have a solid foundation for their educational future.

Introduction

GTC is a charity organization of men and women who are committed to developing the potential of orphans and impoverished children. While promoting education advancement and preserving the Vietnamese tradition and culture in the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, the charity’s purpose is exclusively educational, cultural, and charitable.

History of Good Tidings Charity

GTC was founded by Thomas A.T. Nguyen in 2004 to continue the tradition of the Tà Áo Sinh Viên (TASV) Calendar.

The TASV Calendar was created by Thomas A.T. Nguyen back in 1999 when he was the Founder/President of the Vietnamese Students Association at the University of St. Thomas in Houston. The following year, Mr. Nguyen founded Vietnamese Students Associated Charities (VSAC), Inc. and continued the TASV Calendar project under VSAC until 2002.
